AbstractRemote sensing (RS) data have been used to predict agricultural variables such as leaf area index and crop yield. The main objective of this paper was to analyze the relationship between RS data from different periods and both wheat grain yield and final plant height. The RS data were collected over 80 field plots during five growth stages with the FieldSpec spectroradiometer. The RS variables were individually simulated for TM bands 3 (red) and 4 (near infrared) and, for vegetation indices: Simple Ration (SR), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Soil-Adjusted Vegetation Index (SAVI). For grain yield best results were obtained with SAVI during booting stage with R2=0.60 and standard error of 387 kg ha-1. Final height was also best predicted during booting stage, but this time with the SR index with an R2=0.52 and standard error of 40.7 cm.
